Very true!!
Virtual Autism is an emerging condition seen in young children exposed excessively to screens (phones, TVs, tablets) with minimal human interaction. It can mimic autism-like symptoms such as delayed speech, poor eye contact, reduced social skills, and delayed developmental milestones
The good news is that it is often reversible with early intervention—reducing screen time, increasing parent-child interaction, and promoting real-life play and communication
We should raise awareness and educate parents about it
Exactly
Too much screen time and too little real interaction can delay a child’s speech and social growth, this is what we now call Virtual Autism. Let’s spread awareness and bring back real play and connection!
True!
True…I had personally seen a similar case where the toddler reduced his communication due to tv/mobile addiction..luckily it was reversible as the parents were alerted on time…
This is spreading like any virus..
It’s true. Now a days childern are more involved in mobile and the screen time is more while eating food or games etc. Virtual autism is a term for autism-like symptoms (social withdrawal, speech delay, hyperactivity, poor attention) in young children, caused by excessive screen time replacing real-world interaction, not a formal diagnosis like ASD.
Parents should be aware of this and the screen time should be reduced for the children and social interaction should be more. The virtual autism is environmental, potentially reversible, linked to screen overuse, reversible with screen reduction
