Any comments about USMLE for Indian students given the way Trump is behaving?
President Trump’s trade war (tariff war) and recent news about many visas being rejected for students (international student visas) has created an environment of distrust, panic and uncertainty for USA in the eyes of the world. Stock markets have taken a big hit.
In such a situation, what do International Medical Graduates (IMGs) going to the USA for residency training do, because they already have clouds of uncertainty hanging over their heads about whether even after successful interviews they would be able to Match for the residency or not!
Next many months are crucial because the unpredictable Trump will keep batting and we do not know how he will treat the folks.
But my advice to USMLE aspirants as well as ECFMG- certified doctors is to keep working on their plans towards medical residency training, because after all hospitals and academic institutions need to fill their residency positions. All the best!
