Trisomy 21 means the presence of three copies of chromosome .This extra chromosome causes gene imbalance, leading to Down syndrome, which affects physical growth, brain development, and may cause intellectual disability and congenital health problems.

Down’s Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, indicates the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21 instead of a normal pair. This results in 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. This extra chromosome leads to charactersitic facial features like flattened nose bridge and upward slanting eyes, along with under development of intellectual and cognitive fuctions.

Trisomy 21-- there are three copies of chromosome 21 instead of usual two, which results in a total of 47 chromosomes. this, extra genetic material affects normal development, leading to features of down syndrome such as intellectual disability, and risk of certain medical conditions like congenital heart defects.

Trisomy 21 means there are three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two, leading to a genetic imbalance (aneuploidy). This most commonly happens due to nondisjunction during meiosis.
Clinically, it presents with features like short stature, intellectual disability, hypotonia, flat facial profile, epicanthic folds, upward slanting eyes, flat nasal bridge, and a protruding tongue (macroglossia). A single transverse palmar crease and sandal gap may also be seen.
It is often associated with congenital heart defects (especially AV septal defects), increased risk of leukemia, and early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
The risk increases with maternal age. Management is mainly supportive with early intervention, as gene therapy is not currently an option for chromosomal abnormalities like this.

Down’s syndrome. I wouldn’t want to call them something unkind because they are special in their own capabilities.
