One of the most common phobias is Acrophobia.I myself am afraid of heights.I avoid all adventure rides, tall buildings, etc. If at all I happen to be in heights I literally hear my heart pumping out of my chest.

acrophobia is the specific, intense, irrational phobia, while altophobia is often usedinterchangeably or as a broader term for general height discomfort.

Thanks for the information!

Itโ€™s normal to feel cautious at heights, but it becomes phobia when, fear is extreme and it interferes with daily life.

If you donโ€™t want to disturbed your smooth life because of this fear then avoid to face such height points.

Avoiding some adventures will be good for you.

Mild fear of heights is normal and protective. It becomes a phobia when, It is intense and persistent, It interferes with daily life and the person avoids normal activities (bridges, flights, terraces)

I wonder if there is a relation between vertigo and acrophobia.

Many people have this fear.

Many people silently experience this fear without understanding the anxiety involved. Educating these groups can promote safety, encourage early psychological support, and build confidence through gradual exposure and coping strategies. Spreading awareness not only reduces stigma but also helps individuals prepare mentally and physically when facing height-related situations, improving both safey and overall well-being.
