Tooth jewels 💎

At first glance, tooth jewels may seem fun, a sparkly way to accessorise and even a way that individual expresses themselves.

But what’s often overlooked is the potential harm that it causes:

-Enamel damage : the adhesive used can erode or permanently damage the tooth surface

-Plaque accumulation : these accessories create areas where plaque can buildup increasing the risk of caries

-Deciduous teeth : these are already more vulnerable and adding such elements can increase the risk of long-term dental procedures. (many celebrities have been incorporating jewels on their children’s tooth which is a wrong message to the society. Lately, Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram account to share the pictures regarding the same)

-Choking : if dislodged, they can accidentally swallowed or inhaled

Should we be worried about the glamourization of such trends?

Materialistic things that is not good for health should be avoided. Health is more important than these glamorous things for show off.

Honestly, yes — it may look cool and trendy at first, but people often ignore the long-term effects. Especially when it’s done on kids — it’s not just harmful but also sends out a wrong message. Trends fade, but dental damage stays. We really need to think before following such glamourized ideas blindly.

Very rarely people get tooth jewels. But they tend to fall off soon. Personally, I do not believe they are necessary.

Honestly, no trend is worth risking your health. Tooth jewels might look fun or stylish, but if they harm your enamel or lead to dental issues, they’re just not worth it. True confidence comes from feeling healthy and comfortable, not just following what’s in fashion.
