Supernumerary teeth

Can u person have more than 32 teeth in your mouth ?
The answer is Yes.
This is known as Supernumerary teeth.

Types:

• tuberculate

• supplemental

• odontome

This is a common question asked in theory exams and vivas in DADH

The common supernumerary tooth includes mesiodens, distomolars and paramolars.

Supernumerary teeth are extra teeth that develop in addition to the normal number of teeth.

It’s not at all harmful! It will just interfere with normal occlusion/ the commonly perceived aesthetic smile if they’re present abnormally around your front teeth!

No, In many cases it need not be treated. If it’s causing problems for eruption of other teeth or normal occlusion, ortho treatment can be done.
