To all the budding medicos—especially the girls stepping into this field—my honest advice would be: never let anyone dim your confidence just because you’re still learning. Ask questions, even the “silly” ones, because curiosity builds competence. Don’t compare your journey with others; medicine isn’t a race, it’s a lifelong commitment. Take care of your health—physical and mental—because you can’t pour from an empty cup. And most importantly, stay unapologetically passionate. Your empathy, strength, and resilience are your superpowers.

One thing I’d say to all budding medicos, especially young women — believe in yourself.
It’s okay to not know everything right now. Keep learning, stay kind and don’t be afraid to speak up or ask questions. Support one another, because this journey isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. And remember: taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for others.
