Some drugs quietly do harm while helping too. Like Warfarin can cause bleeding, Digoxin may confuse or blur vision, and NSAIDs can hurt the stomach or kidneys. It’s scary how something meant to heal can also silently affect other organs. Really shows how careful we need to be when using or advising meds.
Interesting, What I’ve noticed is that many of these “silent” side effects can actually be picked up early through therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and regular lab tests. For example, monitoring liver enzymes for drugs like isoniazid or kidney function tests for aminoglycosides can prevent serious harm before symptoms even appear.
Also the ones who catch subtle drug interactions or adherence issues during dispensing and counselling. Strengthening pharmacovigilance reporting in India could also help build awareness about such hidden adverse effects.
