Taking leave during school was simple—it just meant missing a class or some homework. But in college, especially during clinicals, it feels like a domino effect. Missed quota, rescheduled appointments, lost attendance, skipped patient turns, and the constant worry of falling behind. That’s why I usually avoid taking leave unless it’s absolutely necessary.
How about you? Do you feel the same?
Its puzzled here in college
even i college we cant take leave until we are seriously admitted
In school, I didn’t take leave that much. But in college, during second year I had taken leave for theory classes. But, now college is strict with attendence and restrict going out after the clinicals.
As medical students, we as it is don’t take leaves as rightly pointed by Lakshmi.
Imagine taking leave from work than college
The domino effect and worry of falling behind is so true that is why I don’t take leave until its completely necessary
Yes,Its even worse when we fall sick during labs, we will fall behind and there is lot of pressure to complete the work fast too.
Totally agreed! We were in pressure cooker that time. Managing so many things at a time.
During my school days i don’t go to schools as much. But miss that time now and regret it i miss some memories of schools.
After I come to pharmacy college here i don’t think about leaves if i should then college doesn’t think me to leave there so many practicals , daily classes and assignments.
Attendance issues.
As a medical profession i don’t think taking leave is a good idea but at some point we have to take it for our health issues or family issues.
It is good to be on a mode of going on, but sometimes our body and mind demands rest and we all should learn how to take that step towards our own health, whatever the situation is. It is good to build some stringent bounadries right from the college days, so that fast forward during work life, it does not feel like a task to do or it should not create any guilt inside the head. Many people are suffering in today’s time with a condition where they do not know how to stay still or just be as they have been working constantly and they feel if they stay at home something bad will happen and even if they stay at home, their mind is still working. That way, we are not allowing body’s parasympathetic nervous system to function well and gradually this can lead to maladies. We should remember that, all other aspects of life can be made if the health is at the right space and there is nothing which can be more important than that.
In my college days taking leaves wasn’t at all easy .
We have our class representative who always keeps a eye on us – always eager to complain if someone misses class.
Haha we used to fear him more than our teacher
