Start Publishing Early: smart steps for undergraduates

Getting a publication of a research work may sounds difficult,but it is possible. Many students are successfully published their work by using smart and simple steps as follows:

  • Choose those topics which you are interested that matches your skills and resources.
  • Take a suggestion from University/college professors.
  • Search 10-15 review papers related to your topic on Google scholar, research gate and PubMed.
  • If you want to publish original research work go for experiment/survey based study, collect the data, analyze it and present in simple and readable form.
  • Select the best peer reviewed journal for publication like Scopus,PubMed etc.
  • Follow the formatting of selected journal and avoid errors.
  • If any correction are made by reviewer give response to reviewers,make corrections and resubmit it.
  • Be patient and consistent because publication takes time.

Great suggestion/overview. Students must be encouraged to write and publish papers and the same should be taught during UG. This also helps with reading, learning vocabulary, improve early skills in research for PGs.

Colleges should offer short-term study programs for students to improve their research ability, along with regular seminars and case presentations to gain further confidence in their field and acquire knowledge in different topics.
