Should you be taking vitamins ?

My answer can be yes and no ( diplomatic)
Because it all depends on individual person requirements and the lifestyle they are leading.
Because as we know vitamins are essential but we can get them from our food,sun..etc
Yes we should take vitamins when we cannot meet our daily requirements of particular vitamin required for our body
Ex: Vit B 12
No we doesn’t need to take because we can take proper food from which we cns get essential vitamins where villagers still follow this

Yes… I think majority have been prescribed tablets or syrups for iron deficiency anemia, especially women.

Anything goes beyond limits causes harm..and supplements are things now a days everyone us to take so casually as if its food item that to with the knowledge of unprofessional social media…

We should only take vitamins if we have high deficiency, otherwise we should fulfill our vitamin needs from natural sources.

Taking vitamin tablets/capsules unnecessarily can cause toxicity, such as :

Hydrophilic (water soluble) vitamins : They are usually harmless as they gets easily excreted through kidney. But, taking in excess can cause some serious issues like - Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) can cause nerve damage and numbness, Vitamin C can cause headache and kidney stones.

Lipophilic (fat/lipid soluble) vitamins : They can cause severe toxicity, such as - Vitamin A can cause headache and join/bone pain, Vitamin D can cause kidney damage and hypercalcemia, Vitamin E can cause bleeding and headache/dizziness, Vitamin K can cause jaundice and sometimes liver damage.

We shouldn’t take any vitamin or other supplements after being influenced by social media or other sources.

Eat the right food and have a healthy lifestyle then you’ll get good vitamins. If you do face issues then take vitamins only after consulting a good doctor. Because excessive vitamins could lead to toxicity.

No, there is no need to take vitamins as your daily supplement unless and until you are deficient with them. Excessive overload of vitamins may cause organ damages while there deficiency to causes. So the ideal body vitamin requirement should be satisfied by consuming healthy vitamin and mineral rich food. Also people should get themselves tested for vitamins levels atleast twice a year. EAT HEALTHY STAY HEALTHY!!

Yes, I do take Vitamin C and E, mainly for skin health. I’ve seen many people use them, and I started too. But now I understand that it’s important to know what your body actually needs. So I try to stay aware and not take anything in excess without proper guidance.

When prescribed by doctor you should take it otherwise you must know the minimum and maximum limit of the vitamins for the day and according to body weight.
