The news about, the Chairman of the Pharmacy Council of India(PCI), being embroiled in a corruption scandal broke out on July 3, 2025. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided his offices and residences in Delhi and Ahmedabad, seizing crucial documents related to alleged corruption and bribery in granting approvals to pharmacy colleges.
July 5, 2025: The Gujarat Pharmacy Association, came forward with damning allegations against The chairman, accusing him of manipulating elections, bribing officials, and exploiting regulatory powers to extort massive sums from pharmacy colleges.
July 10, 2025: The CBI launched a probe into alleged corruption and irregularities in approvals given to pharma colleges by the PCI, with reports suggesting that over 870 colleges were granted approval within 13 days in 2023-24.
This scam is very shocking and disappointing because it shows how corruption can damage trust in our education system. If so many pharmacy colleges got approval through bribery, it means students’ futures and public health could be at risk. Because of this, the students who are doing pharmacy right now may face problems their registrations might get delayed and they could face difficulties in their careers. I think strict action should be taken against everyone involved and there should be proper checks so that such scams don’t happen again.
Everyone knows what happened everyone knows who is corrupt in this.Even in some private colleges there is not enough equipment and chemicals to perform practical. But it’s all about money. Student suffers only. Private colleges just want money they don’t think about students future they only care about to increase their income through students.Thats what our education system is .
Yes, I saw this and felt really bad. Being pharmacy students, we look up to PCI as the main body that ensures quality in our education. If the top person itself is involved in such issues, then how can we expect fairness?870 colleges approved in just 13 days? That’s not just shocking, it’s heartbreaking. We study so hard, follow every rule, and still struggle — but those who have money and power just take shortcuts? It’s not fair at all. This kind of corruption damages the future of students and the trust in the system. I really hope strict action is taken and such things don’t repeat again. Because we chose this profession with respect, and it hurts to see it being played like this.
They not just made money but also destroyed dreams of thousands of students. Hope they face severe punishment for this. Everybody knows about this but still its not resolved.
This has further tarnished our faith in the education system, truly appaling news. For how hard the average Indian student and citizen works every single day, we deserve better policies and justice. This is very disheartening.
Corruption is everywhere in the world from hospitals , education etc., we can’t control them . As we have taught of controlling them do we able to control all . They are practiced in it nothing can stop others . Money persons are valued more than normal people . All are humans but they will differentiate us .
In 2025, a ₹5400 crore scam was uncovered in the Pharmacy Council of India. It involved bribery, fake approvals, and fund mismanagement. The scandal has shaken trust in regulatory bodies and highlighted the urgent need for strict oversight and transparency in the pharmaceutical education sector.
Corruption in education is the worst form. It robs the society of trust in the system. It robs its citizens from quality education which in turn makes students suffer knowledge wise which leads to unemployment and economic turmoil.
