Pharmacy has lost its professional essence in India; now it’s just commercial chaos.
Yes you are right.
True
Agreed.
This is absolutely true, but the change is now in our hands, and also by empowering strong voices even more
I agree!
Nice illustration!
The question is how to control it? Or, how to bring the order back?
You’re right, pharmacies seem to be more like convenience stores than healthcare hubs nowadays.
True, pharmacies nowadays are more like a general store, people check medicines on Google and show them to the store and consume them without any proper consultation. This can be controlled by checking whether such stores have a licensed medical practitioner and the permission to even sell the non-prescribed drugs.
Absolutely true! It’s heartbreaking to see how pharmacy education in many places has turned into a business. Most colleges don’t even have proper labs or equipment students barely get hands-on training. Yet somehow, inspections are cleared smoothly. How can we build a future or compete globally when we’re not even given the basic practical knowledge? We deserve better not just degrees, but real education that shapes our careers.
This illustration you’ve shown is literally how pharmacy works now.
I do agree
I’ve noticed this too, it feels like the true value of pharmacy is getting lost. Instead of focusing on patient care, it’s become more about business and sales. We need to bring back the respect, knowledge, and responsibility that this profession deserves. Pharmacy is more than just a shop
I agree with you .
True , quality of education is lost in the race of profit
Totally agrees with you
Yes absolutely right pharmacy education is disrespecting by the society people use social media to clarify the usage of medicine
Yeah, agree…
Soo True
Pharmacy in India has increasingly shifted from a profession focused on healthcare to one driven by commercial interests. The emphasis is now often on profit-making rather than patient care, with a growing number of chemists and pharmacies prioritizing sales over providing proper medication counseling or ensuring the right treatment. Regulatory loopholes, a lack of proper enforcement, and the rapid growth of online pharmacies have contributed to this shift, diluting the professional essence of the field. As a result, the role of pharmacists as healthcare professionals who prioritize patient well-being is being overshadowed by commercial chaos and competition.
