New topic to me. Great to know that halotherapy is used in treating respiratory diseases.

Salt therap or halotherapy sounds soothing, but the science doesn’t quite measure up yet. While sitting in a salt cave can feel relaxing, there’s only weak evidence that it genuinely helps respiratory issues or skin conditions like asthma or eczema.

If it gives someone a calm moment, that’s worth something. Just wouldn’t rely on it over proven treatments.

Yes, I’ve read about halotherapy @kothwalzabeen. It’s promoted for respiratory and skin benefits, but it’s important to remember that scientific validation is still limited. It might work as a complementary therapy, especially for stress relief and relaxation, but not as a substitute for prescribed treatments. Still, it’s an interesting wellness trend worth exploring

Salt therapy has been used for millennia, but modern salt therapy can be traced to the salt mines and caves in Europe and Russia from the early 19th century. Today, breathing in the microclimate of caves with their stable air temperature and moderate to high humidity in the presence of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium and the absence of airborne pollutants and pollen is called speleotherapy.

I have never heard about halotherapy. It’s very informative and after reading I did some basic research about it too. there are both natural salt rooms and artificial salt rooms available and natural ones are present in countries like Poland, Ukraine and Russia.

Artificial ones are made to mimic the natural ones like floors and ceilings are covered with salt and halogenerator is used to dispense the salt particles into the air. these are often seeen in spas and wellness centers.
