Replacing AI tool for academic writing is good or bad

Self-writing is a skill that everyone wants to improve during their academic journey by writing reviews or research articles. However, it often consumes a lot of time and energy to complete.

Nowadays, many people use AI for their academic writing, especially in the pharmaceutical and medical fields.

But is this a good or bad practice?

It is difficult to come to a conclusion that usage of AI tools is bad. In fact we can take the help of such tools to enhance our ability of writing, correct few grammatical errors, and also develop outline for the manuscript. But completely relying on AI tools without even to write our own dissertation would be unacceptable.

Nice opinion :+1:

As a student, I can’t deny that I don’t use AI for my studies. Infact the amount of legitimacy and accurate answers it gives scares me and feels so illegal (which is not) to have access to such an innovation. But I suggest to use Ai only when you have few knowledge about the topic which you are searching for a quick revision and better understanding.

I too accept this fact.

I believe in the ideology stating that change is the only constant .

Integration of Artificial intelligence is a great initiative

AI won’t take the jobs of ones who know how to use it .

Good opinion…you will prioritize your own work right

We are in difficult times.
Adopting AI as our content writer with no proper prior human research and later on not willing to read and re-read and adapt to our expected line - that is what many homo sapiens are doing right now. This is called ABUSE of AI, but humans are humans.
So, my advice and recommendation: Write your self and ask AI to improve.

Awesome perspective… the main concept of the work is definitely from our side and the remaining supplementary work may be we use AI.

AI can aid research and writing, but overreliance risks errors and loss of originality, human oversight remains essential.

Yes that’s true. While during a research, getting help from AI is okay. But too much reliance can change the main idea of ours.

Really relevant point. AI has definitely made academic writing faster, but it’s a double-edged sword. When used responsibly for structuring ideas, checking grammar, or improving clarity, it can be an amazing support tool. But relying on it completely can weaken critical thinking, originality, and scientific integrity.
