Yes, there is a connection, but it’s not the only reason for PCOD.You’re absolutely right—PCOD mainly happens due to hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance in the body. But lifestyle plays a major supporting role, and junk food can definitely worsen the condition.

:purple_circle: How junk food affects PCOD:

:backhand_index_pointing_right:High sugar and processed carbs in junk food can increase insulin resistance.
:backhand_index_pointing_right:This can lead to more testosterone production, which worsens PCOD symptoms like acne, irregular periods, and weight gain.
:backhand_index_pointing_right:Trans fats and additives can increase inflammation and disturb hormonal balance.
But it’s not the only cause. Genetics, lack of exercise, sleep disturbances, and stress also play a big part.

I’ve heard that junk food have an affect on PCOD. But I’m not sure upto what extent.

Yes, there is a connection between junk food and PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Junk food is often high in refined sugars, unhealthy fats, and processed carbohydrates, which can lead to insulin resistance—a key factor in PCOS. This can worsen hormonal imbalances, contribute to weight gain, and increase the risk of complications such as irregular periods, acne, and fertility issues. A balanced diet low in processed foods and sugar can help manage PCOS symptoms more effectively.
