So why did the famous painter be admitted to the mental asylum?

Apparently Vincent’s state has no consensus of his physical and mental health with competing hypotheses to possible medical conditions such as epilepsy, bipolar disorder, sunstroke, lead poisoning, schizophrenia, non-suicidal self injury disorder. His death was in 1890 because of suicide which was an nfection caused from gun-shot wound in the chest.

Some of the symptoms were poor digestion, bad stomach, hallucinations, nightmares, manic episodes, depressive episodes, absent- mindedness, insomnia and anxiety. So let’s talk about some of the conditions which keep on worsen by each day.

Schizophrenia (unconfirmed) it is a chronic psychiatric disorder characterized by hallucinations, delusions and reduced emotional expression. He experienced episodes of hallucinations, confusion and altered behaviour leading to think some that he had schizophrenia. However these symptoms were intermittent rather than persistent.

Bipolar disorder: He experienced alternating periods of intense energy and deep depression.

Possible lead poisoning: Some experts have suggested chronic exposure to lead from oil paints contributed to neurological symptoms.
