Late Wake-Up? My Simple Morning Routine to reset the day

Not everyone’s built for the 5 AM club — and that’s okay.

For many today, late nights aren’t a choice — it’s work, study, or life rhythm. I used to be a person who crash out after my night shift and then end up being tired and grumpy may be for the whole week. So I tweaked my routine a bit when I had night shifts.

On days I am having my night shift I take care of the following:

1. Skip dry, oily, or fried food.

2. Choose warm, nourishing meals.

3. Sleep in a room of full darkness, in the morning after my shift about half of my usual sleeping time

4. Making lunch my main meal.

5. Taking a short nap afterwards

But this is just my routine. Your gut, hormones, and immunity all sync with nature’s rhythm.
When you stay up late, your goal isn’t to fight it —but to realign wisely. Observe your body — appetite, energy, sleep. That’s your internal clock guiding you. And let us act accordingly.

What do you do when you have a night shift?

Yes. Listen to the body rather than forced routines

Loved this perspective. Night shifts really change the body’s rhythm, and fighting it only adds exhaustion. Small adjustments like warm meals, proper darkness for sleep, and listening to appetite make a big difference. There’s no one-size routine — observing our own body is the real reset.

As having nightshift requires your presence of mind and activeness. You can do activities or have food that keeps you awake and more active for the time. You can use good music that keeps you actually active and strong enough. This is what I do and believe. Everyone has different routines.

i prefer doing morning shifts rather then night shifts and even if i m forced to i prefer not eating anything in that time as it leads to acidity
