Job Interview Stress – Why Are Pharmacy Students Often Underprepared and How Can We Fix It?

Hi MedBounders!
A lot of pharmacy students, even toppers, feel extremely nervous and unprepared for job interviews after B.Pharm or M.Pharm.

Some reasons I’ve observed:

•Lack of mock interviews or soft skills training in college
•Not enough focus on HR questions, only technical prep
•Fear of speaking confidently in English
•Unawareness about industry-specific roles and expectations
•Weak resume-building skills
Because of this, many students miss out on good opportunities despite having solid technical knowledge.

Let’s Discuss:
→ What makes pharmacy job interviews difficult for freshers?
→ Did you attend any training that actually helped you prepare?
→ Should colleges conduct regular mock interviews or workshops?
→ For those working now – what’s your top interview tip for juniors?

After many rounds , they said they need more experienced person.

The education system is built on just mugging up and answering rather than sharpening any software skills.
We had a 10 days workshop to help us improve our soft skills. Students even skipped this🙂
Yes absolutely! Meaningful workshops and mocks go a long way not where just someone is talking and we listen as audience. Making it more hand’s on definitely helps in the long run.
