We all feel stressed sometimes. When does everyday stress turn into anxiety?

Normal stress is usually temporary. It happens before a test a tough talk or a big change in your life then it goes away once the situation is over. This is your bodys way of dealing with pressure.

Anxiety is different from stress. Anxiety does not go away even when there is no reason to feel anxious. It shows up as worry feeling restless having trouble sleeping feeling tight in your muscles or having a fast heartbeat. For a long time not just a few days. Anxiety can get in the way of your work your relationships and your daily life.

The main differences between stress and anxiety are:

* Stress has a reason anxiety often does not have a reason

* Stress goes away when the situation is over anxiety stays

* Stress helps you get things done anxiety stops you from doing things

* Stress is something you can handle anxiety may need help from a doctor or therapist.

Conclusion

Knowing the difference between stress and anxiety is the step, to getting the right help. Not every bad feeling needs to be treated by a doctor.. If you think anxiety is just stress you might not get the help you need.
