Even for minor issues, we are using English (modern) medicine so much that we have neglected our own traditional treatments. Do we really need to rely so heavily on Western medicine?"
Is our traditional medicine system not enough to serve us ??
Your views on this .
yess , but we all are depend on western medicine
For all things, I think moderation is the key.
Too much of anything is not good!
Western medicine is good and fast … No deny in that …
However indian traditional meds doesn’t have side effects and complications …it works a bit slow though
Western medicine is essential for acute and life-threatening conditions but over dependence has made us overlook our rich traditional systems.Traditional medicine can be effective for prevention, chronic care, and well-being. A balanced integration of both could serve us best.
While Western medicine is life-saving in many cases, our traditional systems like Ayurveda have valuable, time-tested remedies too.
I think a balanced approach — using modern medicine when truly needed and exploring traditional methods for preventive care and minor ailments could serve us better.
Both western and indian medicine can be used in different settings. Western medicine works better for surgery and acute care whereas Indian medicine does wonders in preventing diseases and some other proven remedies. I believe a combining the strengths of both will be useful for us.
Very well quoted. Everything in balance can be the perfect approach.
Both traditional and Western medicine have their place in healthcare. Western medicine has undoubtedly advanced diagnostics, surgery, and emergency care. However, traditional systems like Ayurveda, Unani, or Siddha offer holistic approaches and preventive care that shouldn’t be ignored.
There will be some or the other side effects in modern medicine, hence we should minimise the intake unless it’s very necessary.
I mean 50 / 50 because I feel minor things can be taken care , but if something major is the scenario no matter what we love our culture we will be only confident towards western
We often turn to modern medicine even for minor issues, probably because there’s a lack of proper counselling on lifestyle and nutrition. Traditional systems focus deeply on prevention and overall well-being, but they’re often sidelined due to limited awareness or integration!!!
I think traditional medicine is valuable and has helped many people for a long time. But modern medicine is important too especially for serious problems. Maybe the best way @Wakeeta_11 is to use both wisely, depending on what we need.
Traditional medications and therapies need to be scrutinized on the line of modern science principles. If they are valid, they should be promoted.
That is all I would say.
Traditional medicine serve as a backbone but the todays syllabus mainly focuses on the difference country medicine
Using the traditional medicines can take long time to cure the disease but yet do not cause any side effect and best for use. But western medicine can be cured fastely and it is affecting the human body internally but we get to know it after a long time. so in my opinion traditional medicines are the best and many people now a days are preferring the ayurvedic medicines more than english medicines.
May be or may be not ,…yes ayurveda has been set aside and has no practical value these days ..So I do believe this english medicine has destroyed something… something that our forefathers were so good at and so proud of.
Honestly, we have depending on modern medicine even for small things like headache and cold. No doubt, Western medicine is life-saving in many serious cases, but we have forgotten our own traditional systems like Ayurveda or home remedies, which used to treat most diseases in our ancient times. Our traditional medicine has deep roots and is more focused on healing the body naturally without side effects. I think we should balance the use of Western medicine For minor things.
I feel both Western and traditional medicine have their own value. Western medicine is fast and useful in emergencies, but traditional methods like Ayurveda are helpful for long-term health and lifestyle. Instead of fully depending on one, we should try to balance both based on the situation. Both can support each other if used wisely.
True! Western meds work fast, no doubt. But Indian traditional meds are gentler, with fewer side effects just take a bit longer to show results.
