Many of us enter pharmacy college with a broad idea of some saying “I’ll work in a hospital,” and some “I want to join the pharma industry.” But internship has a way of changing perspectives.
Some discover they love direct patient care during ward rounds.
Others find passion in research, pharmacovigilance, or industry roles.
And a few decide to pursue higher studies or specializations after seeing real-world gaps.
Question to you all: After your internship experience, which path do you feel more drawn to clinical practice, industry, or academics? And why?

I began my journey with MedBound Times as a pro bono writer and today, I serve as the Managing Editor at the same company. Being part of a startup allowed me to explore diverse domains—from writing and publishing my first article to editing, mentoring interns, and now diving into SEO.
I enjoy connecting with interns, sharing knowledge, and learning even more from their questions and curiosity. This journey has nurtured my passion for digital media, and I look forward to exploring this space further—perhaps even as a digital nomad in the future.

This is such a great motivation for many of us. The key point is to never give up
Internship really opened my eyes. I entered college thinking I’d join the pharma industry, but ward rounds made me appreciate clinical practice more. Seeing how pharmacists support patients directly felt meaningful. At the same time, I’m curious about research and regulatory roles too. It’s tough to choose one path, but I now value real-world experience more than just theory
