Pharmacology

MBBS Students whose favourite subject is pharmacology in second year, develop a liking to go for MD internal medicine, rather than surgical courses in pg. How far it is true?

No idea on this topic but as a student of mpharm pharmacology I’m more interested in going to explore clinical trials and pharmacovigilance.

I tend to agree with you. From very first year, I had kind of become clear that I will be like to be a physician rather than surgeon. In second MBBS, path, micro , pharmaco were of great interest to me.

Great idea to pursue MD medicine as Pharmacology is the base

Surgery requires manual dexterity, procedural skills, and anatomy-centered thinking more than deep pharmacological knowledge.

Students fascinated by drug action and pathways might find medical specialties more mentally stimulating.

For sure :100:

I would put it this way: those who want to pursue certain subjects like internal medicine, pediatrics, do have a lot of liking for pharmacology.

As a pharmacist, I believe that pharmacology is the most interesting subject. You won’t feel overwhelmed or find it boring. It’s technical in its own way, and it becomes enjoyable once you understand why certain medicines are used for specific diseases.
