Malaria Vaccine for malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum is under toxicology assessment (JAIVAC 2) and another vaccine for malaria caused by Plasmodium vivax has completed Phase I trial (JAIVAC1).
India’s Covaxin and Serum Institute’s Covishield are great examples of how we’re leading in vaccine development and global supply.
It’s great to see important work happening on vaccines for diseases like dengue and malaria. Collaborations like the one between ICGEB and Sun Pharma show how science is coming together to protect people from all dengue strains. The progress with malaria vaccines, too, is promising and could save many lives.
These efforts give hope for better prevention and healthier communities, especially in places where these diseases are common.
