How you chose your MBBS college Was it based on rankings, location, or just availability?

Looking back, would you have chosen differently?

It can vary according to personality of person
Firstly if you can stay away from home for long time let say you can manage staying away from straight for 6 months or more you can take any college you will get on your rank

But if you’re a person who can’t stay away , you need your family in between you to visit them frequently so choose best available option accordingly ( like rank of college matter upto a certain level )

And last you have to stay their for next 5.5 years do choose location wisely

Based on ranking

In my time, PMT was there. So yes, if you are selected. So, pretty much which college you are selected in.

Your choice of MBBS college should be based on more than one factors as it dictates the next 5.5 years of your life.

Ranking and reputation of the college matters as a better ranked college provides better faculty, infrastructure and clinical exposure.

Location of the college affects the climate, language and cultural fit of the place. Proximity from home also reduces stress and expenses associated with the college.

Availability of the college is based on your ranking and potential.

Therefore, balance your dream, target and safe choices before making a choice during counselling.

It depends on various factors what we experience in india , we don’t experience abroad and vice versa.
Same goes with govt colleges vs private colleges.

If asked from me , I would like to choose India if I had a time machine to go back in time…

I chose my MBBS college based on merit and location. I knew the college had a good reputation, and the location was the cherry on top. With excellent infrastructure and strong academic exposure, I was confident it would be a great place to study.
