How to study smart for NEET MDS?

Preparing for NEET MDS can be quite frustrating. The syllabus is very vast and very volatile. Studying even a single page from the Pulse can be very time-consuming and causes mental fatigue. The key lies in studying smart and covering portions quickly. So, what ways could we use to tackle this?

Understand the concept first

Understanding what you study is important before even attempting to memorize it. Mugging up things without understanding anything is a total waste of time and energy. Keep asking ‘Why’ and ‘How’ for every MCQ you tackle. It makes you think and makes your brain active to retain what you study.

Make notes

Make small notes and don’t make it complex. Make sure you don’t write everything on the book as it is. Understand the concepts and write what you understand instead of writing what you see as it is.

Make mnemonics

Don’t create mnemonics for each and every concept. Create it only for concepts which are very difficult to remember. This minimizes the time taken to memorize things and pushes it to long-term memory instead. Memorizing classification, numericals, and drug names using this technique can improve your preparation tremendously.

Revise wisely

Revise in sequence. Once you study a concept, make sure to revise it at a regular interval to retain the knowledge.

  • 1st revision: 24 hrs
  • 2nd revision: 7 days
  • 3rd revision: 30 days

Avoid resource overload

Yes, the syllabus is vast. If you try to cover the entire field of dentistry, it will be impossible to complete everything. Pulse is your best friend to crack the NEET exam. Use it wisely. Repeat the MCQs several times. Cover the entire book as much as you possibly can.

Stimulate exam conditions

Stimulate exam conditions by taking mock exams. Sit and complete those exams as if you are in the exam hall. Don’t allow any distractions. Don’t search for any clues. Keep your books far away and complete your exams.
