As someone living alone, I eat meals alone too so I do watch YouTube or videos on my phone while eating. I try to have atleast 1 or 2 meals a day mindfully without watching anything and when I do watch, I choose short video so I am focusing on eating more. Building habits take time so I taking it one step at a time

Mindful eating has become one of the most neglected habits in our busy lifestyle. When we eat while multitasking, the brain never fully registers the meal, leading to overeating, poor digestion, and reduced satisfaction. One simple habit that helps me eat right is pausing before meals taking a slow breath, observing the food, and consciously deciding to eat without screens. This small ritual anchors my mind, makes me chew better, and helps me recognise fullness signals. The more present we are with our food, the more our body responds with better digestion, nutrition, and overall wellbeing. What mindful habit works best for you?

Very valid concern in this busy world of ours.I make it a point to have at least one meal with my family every day, where devices are strictly a no-go, so we can eat wholeheartedly and connect with each other. Even this small habit helps me enjoy food more, make healthier choices, and appreciate what’s on my plate.

Absolutely true! I myself eat lunch/dinner while watching videos on my mobile; from today onwards, I will try to have lunch/dinner without watching videos on my mobile.

Thanks for such an eye-opening article.

Great topic for creating awareness and realisation of our daily habits which can make a lot of difference.

In today’s hustle era, mindful eating may not be possible for everyone. Actually, many people do not even find enough time to sit and enjoy their meals. Avoiding phone usage while having food is the best decision that I have adopted in recent times.
