If I ask you- What makes you happy … what is the first thing that crosses your mind?
Well a few answers include… eating your favorite food, spending time with people you love, putting your phone away, stop comparing yourself to others, reading your favorite book or watching your favorite series, working out, resting… so on and so forth the list is endless. We all know the basics.
We’ve heard them countless times and yet we keep postponing them… waiting for the right time. What is that correct time for which we are waiting?
Life is never going to be easy, each day we will have to face some new problem and we have to find solution for it. Happiness doesn’t suddenly appear when everything falls into place. It comes from the small things we do every day.
As healthcare professionals, we often tell our patients that prevention is better than cure. The same is true for our mental well-being. Few small things we can do include-
Take care of your mind before you burn out.
Protect your peace before stress takes over.
Enjoy the present before it becomes a memory.
Sometimes, the simplest habits make the biggest difference.
Is it that complicated to be happy? What is one small thing that always makes your day better, but you often forget to do?
Indeed, simplest things make biggest difference. I think for me it’s contentment and gratitude. I keep reminding myself to count the things I can be grateful for, and it always makes my day better yet I keep forgetting to practice it daily.
Well said. In general I think stress has become a core problem in almost all professions. An unhappy person cannot give his 100% output however hard he tires. We should start focusing on simpler thing in life rather than making everything complicated.
This is a very good reminder. The most hardest thing to do is to find happiness in simple things. It is time we unlearn and relearn the concept of happiness
Thanks for the reminder. We forget taking out time for ourselves it is really important. It prevents the burnout that accumulates over time and leads to chronic fatigue. Spend time with yourself today to be productive further is what I believe.Even though it gets difficult in everyday life we can definitely spare some minutes for our own self.
Finding happiness isn’t as difficult as it seems. Seek joy within yourself and don’t depend on others for your well-being. Your smile reflects your inner beauty. Live authentically and keep smiling.
happiness is not complicated, it doesnt have to be big. Sometimes its the small things that make you happy, like getting a hug from your mom without asking for one after a bad day, a good kadak cup of chai or a strong soothing coffee.
True happiness often lies in small everyday moments we usually overlook. Practicing gratitude and taking small breaks for ourselves can make a huge difference mentally and emotionally.
I couldn’t agree more. I really love reading, but for the past few months i haven’t been able to. I kept telling myself, I’ll start again once things get better, but honestly that doesn’t make such sense. Your article helped me realize that- thank you for sharing.
Happiness today can come from simple things like spending time with family or friends, completing a task you’ve been delaying, enjoying a good meal, listening to music, going for a walk, or simply having a peaceful moment without stress or screens.
