Hostel life realities no one prepares for you

Hostel is a place you enter as a pollen, and leave as a full fledged blooming flower. You step in alone and leave with a heart full of people you made family away from your own. You’re a young kid, who turns into a person you re proud of. It teaches you tolerance but also giving back, sharing but also being territorial, owning and what not. Its a place you never thought you needed to grow but its a huge part of who you leave as a person and a professional.

Late-night conversations, shared meals, few silly fights , always complaining abt pathetic mess food and supporting each other through exams create strong bonds.

Nobody prepares for those sleepless nights, for the watery dal, for the hostel canteen puffs, for the sneaking out, for the early morning chilled water baths, for the grumpy wardens and for the friends you make for life.

Hostel life hits like a unthinkable innovation nno can ever be fully prepared .

From managing on one meal a day to eating a ton of junk we all have managed to make it work . Those friendships and study groups of 1st yr turned into wrestling grounds for better performance.

Hiding notes to hiding feelings we all became somewhat okay with that environment . But still on few days when we were just about to broke down with all those politics and exam stress we all had that cozy corner which brings you back on track . It can be friends , playing your favourite sport or just a place that make u feel like home .

Still leaving that place is never easy

Hostel life has both Pros and Cons. There’s friends and memories that can be made, studying together, making plans, sharing thoughts and having people by your side. But there are also many instances where one might want to be at home with their family and take time for themselves. One must be really mentally prepared if he/she wants to get into hostel life!
