Healthy happy Diwali

The first thing that come to our mind with any festival is sweets. As festivals like Diwali is round the corner, lots of sweets are prepared and served at home and gifted to others.

We already know sugar is white poison. There are various types of natural and artificial sweeteners available these days. Instead of white sugar, substitutes like jaggery and honey are used these days.

The best natural sweeteners are stevia and monk fruit sweetener. Even though they are quite expensive, they won’t do any harm for our health. Nowadays, a lot of sweet products made of these sweeteners are available.

Dates are healthy alternative for white sugar. Laddoos and burfies made of dates are common in markets these days. The pulps of pine apple and jack fruit are equally sweet and healthy options used for making sweet these days. These pulps are used for making ice-creams and cakes.

The artificial sweeteners are erythritol and oligo-fructose. They are expensive and not much healthy compared to natural sweeteners.

Instead of giving sweets as gift hampers, we can switch to dry fruit hampers, which are common in market and healthy.

Since we are health conscious these days, why don’t we switch to healthier sweet options? Wishing everyone a healthy and happy Diwali.

I saw a video on YouTube where they used frozen banana and mango to make ice-cream. Also a healthier alternative just like dates.

Yes, switching to healthier alternatives to sugar offers distinct health advantages while minimizing blood-glucose spikes and supporting overall metabolic health.

Such a lovely and timely message! It’s true, festivals don’t feel complete without sweets, but it’s great to see more people choosing healthier alternatives. Natural options like dates, stevia, and fruit-based sweets let us celebrate without guilt and still enjoy every bite. Dry fruit hampers are nowadays being used because almost every household has someone with diabetes.

While I believe everything is okay in moderation, I still really think we should think of healthier alternatives to these sweets and create some new traditions that way! Happy Deepavali
