This is a great step toward aligning GATE with modern biotechnology. However, it also raises an important question: Have universities updated their biotechnology syllabus as well? Are students actually learning topics like CRISPR, genomics, NGS and epigenetics in their classrooms or are they expected to study them independently while preparing for GATE?@subhamahes98
Thanks for sharing this update it means a lot for GATE aspirants! Also smart decision by IIT Madras team for including modern biotechnology topics in syllabus with system biology, and my favourite Bioinformatics !
I think it’s a great step to add these topics into the syllabus. As they provide insight into what’s currently happening in research. Students need to be evaluated on knowledge of topics like these to gain holistic view of field they are stepping into.
