Why Every MBBS Student Needs a Mentor — Not Just for Exams
When I started MBBS, I thought all I needed was to study hard for exams like NEET and figure out my career later. But very soon, I realized medicine is much more than that. It’s about dealing with real people, real emotions, and real challenges every day. That’s where mentorship comes in.
Having a mentor is like having a guide who’s walked the path before you. They don’t just help you with books or career advice—they help you:
Understand what it really means to be a doctor
Handle tough situations without losing your cool
Learn how to talk to patients and work with teams
Stay motivated when things get overwhelming
Explore different career options with confidence
Build connections that will support you throughout your career

Every MBBS student needs a mentor because they guide me beyond exams—they help me navigate challenges, stay motivated, make career decisions, and grow both personally and professionally throughout this demanding journey.
Indeed! Mentorship plays a great role. Sometime there may not be identified mentor(s), but if you looked carefully, over the years our colleagues, peers and seniors who have been shaping our thoughts, giving tips and micro tips in our studies and professional journeys. They all are our mentors.
