FMGE certificate scam

A major medical fraud has emerged in Chhattisgarh, where over 3,000 doctors are under investigation for allegedly practicing with fake Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificates. The case has drawn national attention after authorities identified possible links to a similar racket in Rajasthan, suggesting a wider network exploiting gaps in verification and licensing systems. The revelations have raised serious concerns about regulatory oversight, transparency, and patient safety within India’s healthcare framework.

What systemic reforms are needed in the FMGE process to prevent such large-scale fraud from recurring?

This is honestly really scary to read. If people are practicing with fake certificates it is not just a system failure it directly puts patients at risk. There has to be much stricter verification and accountability so something like this does not happen again.

Incidents like this makes people doubt the healthcare system. Sting operations should be carried out frequently in a fair manner to prevent such incidences.

This seems to be a massive scale and that’s why authorities failed to verify. Medical association needs needs to be more vigilant regarding this.

Woah

This is truly concerning, as it directly impacts patient safety and trust in the healthcare system. Strengthening verification processes, improving transparency, and ensuring strict regulatory oversight are essential to prevent such fraud in the future.

Every couple of months, a similar incident surfaces and it just vanishes off after news panel discussions.

FMGE-related fraud concerns seem linked to two parallel issues, questions about exam fairness and gaps in credential verification. A possible reform could be a unified licensing exam for all graduates (like NEXT), along with centralized digital verification linked to hospitals and regulatory boards to improve fairness and transparency.

Medical frauds like this negatively impact patient’s trust in the healthcare system. there is a need for stricter verification from application to licensing, better monitoring systems, transparent checks at each and every step in the FMGE process and strong accountability-- so the entire process stays fair and trustworthy.

Wow, due to much act our services and profession i loosing it’s essence only because of these frauds.

Quite alarming. Strict rules and punishments should be enacted for verification processes, and regular monitoring should be done.

This is something frustrated things are happening in professional sectors

That is so confusing
