Extra-Curricular & Passion Pursuits

“Is it okay to follow hobbies or YouTube while in MBBS?”
There’s often guilt or peer pressure around spending time on non-academic activities.

Life is a balance .. just living a monotonous life is saturating… Living the life of the doctor is tough and finding or following your own passion between your busy life… Can be healing, rejuvenating and much more.

Yess of course, no matter how much MBBS was your goal and dream there is saturation at some point. At that time you just keep MBBS on hold and do something which would get you back. Persuing hobbies with the course can be very helpful and therapeutic at the same time.

Of course it’s okayyy! In fact, following hobbies during MBBS is kinda essential.

With so much pressure and info overload, hobbies like writing, vlogging, music, etc., aren’t distractions — they’re your dots. Like Steve Jobs said, you can only connect them looking back. So just keep making them.

You might feel like you’re living a double life — med + your passion — but that’s where the spark is! Side projects often end up becoming your best work. And honestly, hobbies make you more productive. You’ll manage time better, feel refreshed, and maybe even discover what really drives you.

Don’t cut off parts of yourself just to “fit in.”

The thing is you can cutoff a couple of passions and only focus on one, but after a while you’ll will start to feel phantom limb pain

Let all your interests coexist. One day, it’ll all make sense.

Till then, keep going!!!

Yesss!! Hobbies and passion is what grounds you when academic pressure tries to take you down, it helps you to get back to yourself. We all know academic pressure is real and it can sometimes make our mental health horrific and these things can help at those times massively.

A big yes!

It’s all about the passion and interest.

You are passionate about something, you can do everything you want to do.

Simple reason behind this huge yes is - medicos are not always into the books. They do take out sometime for themselves. Some tries to relax in that extra time or some tries to travel. And if someone is trying to utilize that extra time to follow their passion or hobbies then why not?
