Eustress v/s Distress

If we hear about the word STRESS - mostly, people think it as a negative character.

But in my point of view, it’s not always a villain.

Yes, stress can lead to other problems such as anxiety, overthinking, restlessness but it can be the same thing which can makes the person motivated to do something in their life.

If something goes off according to our plans, we got stressed. And that stress can make us to think even harder to get out of that situation.

Therefore, Stress can be of two types:-

  1. Eustress is positive stress that motivates and enhances performance.
  2. While Distress is negative stress that overwhelms and harms well-being.

So what’s your opinions on Eustress and Distress?
How do you deal with that?

Eustress pushes us to grow, while distress drains us but both are signals we shouldn’t ignore. Personally, I manage them by staying aware of my limits and using breaks as fuel, not guilt.

Totally agree, stress isn’t always the bad guy. Sometimes, a little pressure (eustress) pushes us to grow, focus, and take action. For me, it’s all about finding that balance before it tips into distress.

Yes!!
Stress can contribute as positive impact factor, it can prepare or alarms us during unpredictable events.

Yes a little bit of stress helps to do the work in time

Agreed - it is the matter of perspective. Eustress is needed in a healthy amount to help us stay motivated and to do our work whereas distress makes us anxious and overwhelmed to keep doing the work. It ultimately is on us, how we balance the two and use strategies that help us stay productive and mentally well.
