The booming category these days is social media marketing… because of the consumption of online content. I hope everyone agrees with me here, this sector can be helpful for boosting up your presence in the market. Many hospitals and clinics have also started adopting this idea. Pros of this category - visibility in various platforms, contacting and reaching you is easy, review and rating system helps. Cons of this category - cost effectiveness, because of some uncooperative patients rating and review gets affaected, it takes time to get noticed.
In my opinion, in India it’s always classic word of mouth that works miraculously for hospitals and clinical setups. All it takes is genuine treatments concerns and care, a little patience.
Totally agree with you! In India, especially in our field, the key to marketing is and will always be - mouth to mouth publicity. Though social media marketing has become a platform through which we are able to let people know about who is there in the market? It also tends to create a competition amongst peer and puts pressure on creating a dental clinic in a certain infrastructural design. But what they fail to keep in mind is, that, at the end, it’s going to be how they treat their patients and take care of them. I hope people use social media marketing in moderation and rather focus on delivering precise care and treatment to the patients.
Professionalism, privacy issues and ethical issues dictate that social media presence of a clinic or practice or a hospital needs to be done with it utmost care. Because social media presence exposes you to some risks also as a professional. An advantage should not turn into a disadvantage later on.
