Every day, we’re surrounded by opinions, on social media, in news, in conversations. There’s always a “right” take, a trending perspective, or a popular belief waiting to be accepted. And slowly, without even realizing it, we start absorbing these views as our own.
But how often do we actually pause and question what we believe? Not just repeating what we’ve heard, but truly understanding why we think a certain way.
It’s easier to agree, to follow, to blend in. Thinking independently takes effort. It means being okay with uncertainty, with standing alone sometimes, even with being wrong.
In a world full of noise, real thinking has become rare. And maybe that’s why it’s more valuable than ever.
So here’s something worth asking,
Are our opinions truly ours… or just borrowed from the world around us?
The mid decade from 2010 to 2020 was in the similar manner as you have explained . But looking out now a days many good influencers are trying to keep their perspective by which maximum population can relate to them.
It’s a serious concern and I think it is really necessary to give some time for ourselves. Sometimes we are very overwhelmed with our surroundings and neglect the good things which we have so it is important to think for us .
Definitely, our opinions are influenced by a lot of noise surrounding us. The major drawback with social media is our brain gets flooded with tons of opinions, thereby reducing our ability to understand what actually going on. Independent thinking requires some time alone, where we can decipher the situation to its entirety before directly jumping to the conclusion.
We spend so much of our lives trying to fit into society’s expectations that thinking independently starts to feel risky. Expressing your own ideas takes courage, because being seen as “different” can feel uncomfortable. But the truth is, you already are different. Everyone is. The real shift happens when you accept that, decide what you believe in, and start building an identity that’s actually your own.
