Do Seminars or workshop Add Value?

Is it really necessary to include workshops and seminars in your academic CV or resume?
I’ve seen people add them, but I’m not sure how much value they actually hold.
Do they make a real difference, especially for students or fresh graduates?

Practical workshops give valuable experience (what we call hands on experience), those are considered in good esteem. They should be added to the CV and are always taken positive.

Absolutely, they’re super valuable. For us students, these show we’re eager to learn beyond lectures and gain practical skills.
It tells recruiters you’re proactive and truly invested, which totally helps you stand out.

no they dont really matter unless you actually did something active in them like presenting or organizing just attending a workshop or seminar and getting a certificate doesnt impress anyone anymore especially when everyone has a bunch of them from random online events during covid times

if youre a student or fresh graduate focus more on real stuff like clinical experience research volunteer work or any skill based project that shows initiative

a clean focused resume with genuine experiences is way better than a long list of attended webinars that no one reads

it does because sometimes interviewers ask, how do you update your information regarding the new trends, and if you add certificates it shows that you do have more knowledge and experience

Well , it depends .
If it is hosted by a premium institute or organization , adding it to your CV increases its value. Nevertheless if you include them in your resume , be sure that you have complete knowledge on the topic of the seminar / workshop since chances of being questioned regarding the same will also be high during interviews .

I think firstly one should only attend the workshops or seminars if they really think they aid something to their skill set.
Secondly, in CV or resume - yes we should include them if we are sure that we have grasp something, grass the skill set from that workshop.
Otherwise, I think we shouldn’t.
