Some Drs are really doing a good jobâŚthey wre sharing relevant information which is helpful for the people because nowadays most of the people rely on social media & google for many things. But some influencers & fake doctors are misleading people. So people should know who is genuine & fake before blindly believing them.
Some doctors share useful info, but some give wrong advice just for views. We should be careful who we follow.
In my opinion nowadays reels and shorts are Kind of source of second income thatâs why doctor and other health professionals also done this kind of advertisement for their side income some doctors only promote product relevant to their field and some promote irrelevant product but more importantly most of the doctors engaged in social influencing the public related to product and medical field
Doctors at social media can do both , educate as well as mislead.
It not only depend on the doctor but also the person who is reading it, if he takes it in a positive way then he may get a good knowledge.
If he takes in a negative way obviously it will lead to a mislead.
There are a lot of people on social media giving health tips. Itâs hard to know who is giving authentic health tips and who are there to make money or mislead people.
Most of the so-called doctors on social media platforms may not be the real doctors and whatâs the source of their designation âDr.â that needs to be known. A simple google search will do this job as you many find their online profiles or the research articles published by them (either they are doctors or scientists), as most of the authentic research articles that are listed in PubMed (a global research literature database) is publicly open for everyone to see. Also, there are some categories of real doctors, who are completely functioning as influencers now and not practicing anymore and to earn money in life and to function as per the social media algorithm for more visibility, they can take up any easy way to put health-related content without much vigorous and updated research. Very few genuine ones still exist though as both âdoctorâ and âinfluencerâ and they can be followed for getting the genuine information. But the number here is very limited, as it is a huge responsibility, being both at the same time required tidious effort by the person as life of a doctor is already much hectic. Thatâs why finding a source that provides authentic health information (through evidence-based research) is need of the hour.
Yes it true some doctors mislead society by posting irrelevant things. As it is social media each and everyone has the right to share their thoughts and educate people. Itâs up to you to be alert and update.
Hoping they have are certified might help a little. But we as audience also should double check everything shared online.
