What does it take to be successful in a medical career?
Medicine or healthcare is not just about textbooks, memorization, exams, lectures, and practicals. Real-life medical professions are beyond it. It is not limited to getting good marks.
It is when college events play an important role.
It can be different activities such as an awareness camp/visit, conference, hands-on workshop, or seminar. which is outside the classroom or hospital and out of the comfort zone of student, that make them ready for real life
These kinds of events give students real-life exposure to activities, build confidence, foster interaction with different people and experts, identify their interests, and build communication skills. College events also create memories, friendships, and lessons that shape personality.
These are not just “extracurricular activities. These are the main pillars of human development that should be integrated into human society.
A doctor does not just treat a patient. It is a combination of listening to their problems, being interactive, engaging in critical thinking, personalizing treatment options, and adding a human touch to every comment to get connected with them, make them feel heard and seen. These qualities are not built by books alone; they are nurtured through exposure, interaction, and experience.
They also teach responsibility. Managing time, solving unexpected problems, working under pressure, and balancing multiple tasks are all part of both college events and medical life.
So yes, college events actually play an impactful role in creating real medical professionals who can make a difference in the healthcare system on a larger scale.
