Difference between International study pattern and Indian study pattern

The main difference is that the international study pattern emphasize practical, skill -based and flexible learning, allowing for multidisciplinary choices In contrast, the Indian study pattern is generally more rigid, theoretical, and memory-based with a strong focus on examination and pre-defined streams.

Main differences:

  • Learning approach : international education focuses on practical application research and critical thinking. Indian education heavily realise on rote learning and theoretical knowledge.
  • Flexibility: international system allowed students to choose subject across discipline (example combining art and science). Indian system open required student to stick to specific rigid stream.
  • Assessment method: International assessments include presentation projects and class participation .Indian assessments are primarily based on final written examination.
  • Curriculum: International curriculum are frequently updated to match industry Trend some Indian curriculum may be outdated through this is changing with New years institutions.
  • Student teacher interaction: International environment are more interactive and student centric Indian classrooms are often more formal and teachers centred .

Many times we try to compare the international system which includes some different features such as well organized labs for students to use with well equipped environment in the college and allowing everyone to participate in certain activities. And also the equipment are highly advanced and available all the time

Thus in India we do not have that well organized labs for students in many government colleges there are problems for glass apparatus also the equipment are not that advanced and also the students are not allowed to use them.

Due to these problems people prefer to study abroad and develop skills and abilities to work on huge platform.

Conclusion: Having skills is nowadays very important than the marks. Developing lots of skills and gaining good knowledge can improve critical thinking and good grasping power.

Both systems have pros and cons. But in today’s day and age, having practical experience and skills is very important. Changes are being seen in the Indian education system especially medical field. But surely, more can be done.
