Beyond Dental School: The Skill That Truly Helps You Survive in the Real World

Around 8 years of study in dentistry. Knowledge and clinical skills help to enter the professional world.

But other then collage lesson, something more is needed to survive.

What skills are more required to survive?

Learning is a continuous process for life. Every day, each new case and patient teaches a new lesson and skill.

In my experience, communication is most important.

As patients enter the clinic first interaction with them play major role in modifying the patient toward dental treatment.

How does communication matter?

Regardless of age, everyone needs someone to listen to them. This can make patient feel trust, empathy, respect and concern for their problem.

the way we-

  • Address them
  • Listen to them,
  • Tone of voice.
  • Explain the treatment option.

All of these make a difference.

This is a skill which develop with experience and exposure.

If you become an expert in this aspect, your 60% success is achieved.

I learned this from internship days that your way of talking and explaining things helps to connect with patients. And that helps me a lot in my master`s day to become someone that patients can trust.

Share about the skill that helps you in the real world of healthcare.
