Advice from a Doctor, Not an Influencer

Not everything viral on Instagram is safe for your skin.
:black_small_square:︎ Research before applying anything.
:black_small_square:︎ Consult a dermatologist for real issues.
:black_small_square:︎ Avoid DIY chemical peels or steroid creams.

Skincare should be personalized, not popularized.

Every individual is unique, and the same applies to their treatment plans. Always consult a doctor before taking any medicine, rather than blindly trusting a viral product. Just because something is trending on social media doesn’t mean it can cure your condition.

For everyday products like lip balms , moisturizers and sunscreens it is okay to take follow influencers after checking that there are no active ingredients/ ingredient that might cause allergy and strong exfoliants as it is not possible to take an appointment with a dermatologist for every product. But if you have sensitive skin or acne prone skin , its always better to consult your dermatologist . Be responsible, check ingredients and don’t blindly follow trendy products.

I follow skincare which does not involve medicinal application (sunscreen, lip balm, moisturizer, etc.) as internet influencers (only from trusted influencers)

For other medicinal applications, I follow the dermatologist.

Advice from professionals cause these influencers do get paid by certain companies to promote their products and not everything that they say are true

So true @Taskeen, Just because something looks good online doesn’t mean it’s good for your skin.
Everyone’s skin is different and what works for one person might not work for another. I try to stick to dermatologist-approved advice whenever I can. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to skincare!

Not everything viral on instagram is safe for your skin. i agree with your opinion because many of the people are influencing the public in instagram for their own brand promotions. while any of the cosmetic that is going to apply by us on our skin needs to be checked the details like date of manufacturing expiry date and the ingredients that are used in it. branded products are to be mainly preferred by the people for avoiding skin related issues. and while purchasing the products consulting the professionals is most important.

Everyone is unique and has different skin textures. It is not that anything on instagram or the viral DIY skin-care would work for everyone. In case of basic skin-care applications like sunscreens, moisturizers, etc, go with trusted products or do a patch test for any allergic reactions. But always consult a dermatologist when applying anything chemical or medical on your skin as in skin whitening creams, acne creams, steroid creams, etc.

Totally agree with you

Everyone has different skin type. Always consult doctor before using any chemical. Every skin care product is not for you if you have some skin problem.

Very true, some products may seem to be a beneficial addition to your routine, but may not work for your skin type or worse, damage it. Skincare should be personalized.

We should always follow doctor’s advice rather than following a influencer.
But we can’t always afford to go to a doctor for every small problem. So, we should utilize the modern technology and try to research/educate ourselves before blindly following any influencer or using any products or remedies shown on youtube or any other social media platforms.
