Despite its importance, science writing received less attention as compared to other science relate careers. Many students are not formally introduced to this field or its existence during their academic journey .
However, in recent years, science writing has received more recognition, understanding its different styles, its importance. I believe that students should be made aware of the science communication paths as it is an emerging domai n.

I believe science writing should receive more recognition among students, as it improves communication skills, promotes scientific literacy, and helps make complex ideas easier for the public to understand
Science writing should be made more recognizable in students, it would not only provide career path but also helps in developing communication skills, networking and simplifying complex topics that can also help individuals understand much better regarding the updates in medicines or diagnosis tests.
Scientific writing is a very broad field and it’s a trending field. However, most people do not know about this, but it really has a very good scope. I myself came to know about scientific writing as a career last year and I researched a lot about it.
As a biotechnology student, I was not aware of science writing as a career option. I only knew about scientific writing in the context of research papers and thesis writing. Over the past few months, I have learned more about this field and found it truly fascinating. I think more students from science backgrounds should be made aware of science writing as a potential career path, as it offers many opportunities beyond traditional research.
It can cover the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding. Universities and research institutions can further support this by highlighting science communicators alongside researchers and providing opportunities for students to publish their work.
Strong point, science loses a lot of its impact if it doesn’t reach people clearly. Science writing is really the bridge between discovery and understanding, and it deserves more visibility in academic training. Early exposure could help students realize it’s not just an “alternative,” but a meaningful and growing career path.
To divert more attention towards science writing, it has to start from the educational institution level itself; research, scientific writing, article, and paper publications have to be encouraged and made a part of the students’ curriculum. Separate career counseling cells have to be formed to guide interested students towards scientific writing.
