Why is Gen Z more bold in taking decisions compared to Millennials?

Many people feel that Gen Z takes risks more confidently — whether it’s changing careers, leaving toxic workplaces, starting content creation, or choosing unconventional paths. One major reason is exposure.

Gen Z grew up with:

• Social media

• Global opportunities

• Online learning

• Freelancing and creator economy

• Access to different opinions and lifestyles

Unlike previous generations, they constantly see people building careers outside the “traditional” path. This makes them more open to experimenting and making independent decisions.

Millennials, on the other hand, were often raised with a stronger focus on:

• Job security

• Stability

• Traditional career paths

• Societal expectations

Gen Z is not fearless — they are simply more willing to take chances and prioritize personal satisfaction along with success.

At the same time, bold decisions also come with risks, so balancing confidence with practical thinking is important.

Do you think Gen Z is truly more confident, or just more expressive about their choices?

Interesting question — I think Gen Z is not necessarily more confident in every situation, but they are definitely more open and expressive about their opinions, choices, and boundaries compared to previous generations.

May be with the evolution, parents became less stricter and more friendlier which make the genz more confident as they have support from parents unlike millenial’s parents who believed the more strict they are the good they child become.

Interesting perspective on generational mindset shifts.

Gen Z may not always be more confident, but they are definitely more open and expressive about exploring non-traditional paths.

I think Gen Z are more expressive and open to new things. They rely mainly on technology as compared to millennials. They seems confident apart from reality.
