Human body is full of weird mysteries!
Have you at any point observed that one nostril always feels more blocked than the other? Or wondered why trying to tickle yourself never works? Our bodies do all kinds of strange little things, and most of us donโt give it a second thought. But when you find out the science behind them, they become even more interesting.

You are not imagining it. Our nostrils naturally take turns doing most of the work. Every few hours, the balance shifts from one side to the other and this is called the nasal cycle. Itโs our bodyโs way of giving each side a chance to recover while keeping our nose in perfect order.

Itโs because our brain canโt be tricked. When you move your own fingers, your brain already knows and thereโs no element of surprise, it decreases the sensation. Thatโs why someone elseโs fingers can make us wriggle while our own hardly get a response from us.
Youโre a little taller when you wake up.
Strange but true . All day, gravity gently compresses the discs between the bones in the spine. While we are asleep, those discs slowly expand again making us gain a tiny bit of height in morning.

Stomach acid is quite powerful and has the abilty to digest our stomach . It doesnโt because the inside of our stomach is lined by a thick layer of mucus which forms a protective barrier between the acid and stomach wall. Itโs like having a shield thatโs constantly being repaired.

Bones look solid and lifeless, but are actually living tissues. Old bones are constantly broken down while new bone is formed. With time, most of our skeleton is slowly regenerated.
The more we know about the human body, the more it baffles us. Most of these things happen in the backdrop so we rarely stop and think about them. Once you know the science behind such things , something as mundane as breathing through your nose or getting out of bed in the morning feels a little more fascinating.
Whatโs the weirdest human body fact youโve come across?
