Why do many people ignore oral health even though it affects overall health?

Oral health is often treated separately from general health, but problems like gum disease, dental infections, and poor oral hygiene can affect overall wellbeing more than many people realize.

Conditions linked to poor oral health have even been associated with issues like cardiovascular disease and diabetes management.

Yet many people visit a dentist only when pain becomes severe instead of focusing on preventive care.

This made me realize that oral health awareness deserves much more importance in everyday healthcare discussions.

Question:

Why do you think preventive dental care is still ignored by many people?
