Oral health is public health

A dental checkup does more than protect your smile. It can reveal early signs of diabetes, anemia even heart disease.
For many, the dentist is their first (or only) healthcare touchpoint. Oral health isn’t extra it’s essential.
Let’s treat it that way.

Most people indeed ignore oral health. Oral health is a mirror of systemic disease. Awareness should be raised among people to have regular dental checkups where identification of early signs can put a check on the progression of diseases.

Oral health is generally neglected in India since people think it’s only some teeth.. I have 32 of them .. but gum diseases have a correlation with heart conditions and vice versa..

In India, oral health is generally not included in standard health insurance plans, but some policies offer dental coverage either as a standard feature or as an add-on. Most health insurance providers do not cover dental procedures because they are considered cosmetic treatments.

This needs to change quickly!
