Why are 90s kids not getting married

Are the 90s kids actually not getting married?

Are you a 90s kid?are you married? If yes lucky.

Are you a 90s girl, even luckier as many of them didn’t got a chance to live.

The 90s kids are single, this may or may not be a global trend but in India we have a good reason to believe that it is true to some extent. The biggest reason being sex ratio which started declining severely in 1981(933) to 1991 (929) making 90s the decade with highest rate of female foeticide as depicted by highly distorted sex ratio. Sex ratio reached lowest in 1990s and slightly improved in 2000. There are not enough girls, this could be an important factor if not a complete cause of why 90s kids are not getting married.

But we see even girls born in 90s facing similar issues, was this the starting of era when upbringing of child made him/her think marriage is not ultimate aim of life? Please share the reasons that can you think of, if you do agree we this theory.

90s kids are not avoiding marriages but they are avoiding to settle for somebody just for security. Girls are educated, independent, looking for a partner beyond financial security, somebody who is compatible enough to fulfil their emotional needs, who supports their career, freedom and considers them through every decision.

Girls today are more aware of what they want in a partner. They’re not rushing into marriage just because of age or social pressure. Instead, they’re taking time to understand compatibility, emotional maturity, shared values, and long-term goals. Choosing right matters more than choosing early. Another major reason is independence. Before committing to marriage, many women want to be financially stable, emotionally secure, and confident in their own identity.

True that. Marriage is definitely not the ultimate goal in one’s life. A woman is also capable of providing herself financially and meet all her other needs too. Women look for someone who can keep up the mental peace and not make them feel small. It is important to be equally yoked with the other person in all aspects of life. Glad that women are not settling for anything less and rushing into marriages.

Interesting perspective, but the delay in marriage among 90s-born adults is likely driven more by changing aspirations, careers, and social norms than by sex ratio alone.
