Every year in Pharm D comes with its own challenges, whether it’s theory-heavy semesters, clerkship/hospital visits, or the pressure of research. Some struggle in the beginning, others during internship.
Which year tested you the most, and what made it so tough?
Let’s share our experiences and maybe help juniors prepare better.
Every year is different , we cant compare them.
Yes, absolutely
It was my 2nd year and classes were online due to COVID. I don’t know if it is because of online classes i couldn’t give my 100 percent then and also the pharmacology had so much syllabus that i couldn’t remember even though i study again and again.
Its was my 2nd year , i don’t know why because of syllabus or subject like therapeutics ,pharmacology and we have online classes also due to covid . I couldn’t give my 100 % in this year .
The 2nd year especially introduces us to our core subjects, which is very difficult to grasp and thus, can seem scary. I am so proud of you for pulling it off.
It’s okay to not always give 100%, the important point is that you didn’t give up. The 2nd year is full of our core subjects, that can seem scary
yeah pharmacology ,
I got admitted to Pharm D PB (4th year) in the academic year 2024–25, starting my journey on 1st January 2025. With 7 subjects to cover in less than 4 months, it was quite overwhelming at the beginning. It wasn’t clear what was happening, new subjects, new faculty, and a completely new environment.
My first sessional exams started as early as 20th January 2025, with both practicals and theory exams conducted separately, ending by 5th February. Immediately after that, I attended a two-day national symposium on 7th and 8th February.
March was mostly packed with college cultural and sports events, especially during the last three weeks. Only the first week of April had some regular classes, since the second week was occupied by the annual college gathering, keeping the organizing faculty busy.
From 15th April onwards, we had both 2nd and 3rd sessional practical exams running parallel. Then came the theory sessionals 2nd sessional theory exams from 24th April, followed by 3rd sessional exams between 5th to 13th May. And just after that, the university theory exams were scheduled from 19th to 27th May, followed immediately by university practicals from 28th May to 2nd June.
It truly felt like we were trapped in a chaotic web series with back-to-back seasons of exams. The constant rush left very little time for proper study or skill development. Adjusting with regular Pharm D classmates who had a better grip on the flow was also tough. It was challenging, but a learning experience in itself.
This seems like a very fast pace movie, with some fun and masala. But honestly, out PB’s also suffered throughout the whole year. I felt honestly bad and proud of you for pulling it off.
